Tiger Dashboard

Wow. Check out this video at the Apple website of the new Tiger OS. I think just the Dashboard alone would make me switch to a Mac.

    “I think just the Dashboard alone would make me switch to a Mac.” In the PC world, we’ve had DesktopX since 2000. Granted it’s an add-on that you have to buy seperately, it’s a neat one to have.

    Also, I’ve notice in using it that it really churns up CPU cycles, depending on which widgets you choose to put on. Mostly it is affected by how it was programmed. Since DesktopX is a user-based community, some people had less-than-optimal programming skills. Hence their widgets ran slow and ate up resources. Hopefully Mac’s “Dashboard” is optimized and slimlined for quick access and lightweight on the resource side.
