Microsoft!
I’m trying to figure out what the benefits would be of Microsoft buying Yahoo! I think they’re just trying to do something to keep up with Google. In Steve Ballmer’s letter to the Yahoo! Board of Directors, there’s a line that says,
“Today, the market is increasingly dominated by one player who is consolidating its dominance through acquisition. Together, Microsoft and Yahoo! can offer a credible alternative for consumers, advertisers, and publishers.”
It’s like… “Oh yeah Google, watch this. We can buy a big company with lots of money and look cool too.”
Anyway. I don’t think a deal like this would make any difference in my life.
