Oil End Game

I watched a great video this morning on my way into work on ending oil dependance. Amory Lovins does a great job of putting a plan together to decrease our dependancy and create jobs, with complete independence by 2040. Tons of stuff I have never thought about or heard of before.

At 18 mins, it’s worth watching. Check it out here at TED.com.

And he’s made his book available for free here.

And by the way, you should be watching TED videos… lots of them.

I bought that book a couple of years back, was tipped by an oil consultant as worth reading because it was primarily sponsored by the Pentagon - making oil a national security call, rather than just an economic call. Sadly I never did anything with the book other than put it on the bookshelf……..

Duncan, I think it’s tough to read stuff like this because when you’re done it becomes, “what am I supposed to do with this?” The TED talk summarizes the book very good. It may be worth watching just to get a feel for it. I found it all surprising.
