I have and continue to find myself wondering how in the world I could even consider "leading" with my American leadership training in a place like Zambia where the unemployment rate is as high as 70% and 1 in maybe 100 kids who are top of their class get the chance to go on to college. What would I have to offer? I can't even imagine growing up in that society and how I would be. I would most likely be very much like the culture -- though desiring something was different be at a complete loss for how to remedy it. Hmmm...kind of funny...I think that's exactly where I'm at coming from the outside. So maybe it isn't really so different after all. Very thought provoking.
